Slow Resurrection:
The Life & Times of Leland Frank

In 2000, Blake Parker & Colin Davison wrote, produced and mounted a live multimedia show, Slow Resurrection – The Life & Times of Leland Frank, and toured it throughout the Columbia Basin. The show consisted of two 45 min acts featuring: video montages, live music and performance poetry/narration. We toured with a full 5 piece band & technical person. The show was produced by the David Thompson Cultural Society. It was sponsored by the Nelson & District Arts Council & the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance. Touring support was provided by Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance.

The show was re-written, generally tightened up and the number of pieces were reduced in 2002. It was performed by Colin (Jude) Davison, Blake Parker & Laura Landsberg twice at the Performarch festival in Nelson March 2002. We digitally recorded the audio from these shows.

The Video of Slow Resurrection: The Life & Times of Leland Frank was completed in January of 2003. It is a montage of the live-show video (of the second shorter show) accompanied by the live digital recording. It is approx. 1 hr & 10 min long. Each of the sections or “pieces” are individually titled. These sections are either a) poetry tracks with backing music, b) songs, or c) Songs & poetry.

The whole video may be screened or an individual piece or pieces may be selected for screening.
